At Social Lens, 2021 was a reset of sorts.
We had to not only revamp our working model, but it was also a time for us to relook and reset our expectations and strategic goals, and the way we were looking at service offerings across our principal practice areas of Capacity Building, Corporate Skilled Volunteering and Impact Consulting.
As with each organisation, we at Social Lens undertook tentative steps towards augmenting not only the way we would operate, but also developing and adapting to newer internal and external attitudes and mindsets within the frameworks of the altered environment. Some of the things that each of us worked towards over the past year was to discover a newer value proposition and the upcoming talent base, as well as to understand and incorporate different perspectives on some of the most fundamental things we set out to do. In doing so, we found ourselves seeking sharper and improved models of delivery in what we did, adding emerging nuances to the body of the work we had already built and embarking on the exciting storytelling journey of what our data has begun to tell us.
We renewed our understanding and recognition of the culture and ethos we had carefully tried to build at Social Lens, and what it meant for us as we focussed on improving our internal efficiencies.
Seated at the Founder’s Table, leaders from a variety of backgrounds such as engineering, politics, business, accounting, etc. were invited to speak about the one thing that united them all – bringing about positive social change. In doing so, Social Lens recognised and strived to bring to life the stories of different organisations and their leadership who were geared towards making a difference through unique mediums of design, advocacy, technology and much more.
Through the course of 2021, we discovered newer ways to engage with corporate professionals through our Skilled Volunteering program, who contributed relentlessly towards strengthening organisations and communities by donating their time and skills, while also managing their own personal and professional endeavours. Micro-Volunteering and Youth Readiness programs were introduced as unique, value-based volunteering opportunities to match the evolving CSR objectives of corporates and their employees.
We conceptualized and organised multiple intensive capacity building Social Optimisation Cohorts for non-profit organisations. Our focus was towards developing and transforming the internal capacities of partner organisations through knowledge dissemination and associated practical training.
We are grateful to the continued faith and trust that our non-profit change making organisations continue to have in us. We are also humbled by the goodwill we garnered and the number of individuals and organisations that have come forward to work with us on some of our initiatives, like the Good Data Collective and the Virtual Learning Labs.
We are committed to continue with our best efforts in the work we undertake with our clients and partners in building pragmatic and realistic solutions in the social impact ecosystem.
We welcome the unfolding of a new beginning in 2022, and we wrap up a year that leaves us with a renewed pledge to continue our efforts towards driving change and optimising impact.
